The dress/top is knitted in 2x2 ribbing from the top down. The work starts at the neck. Then, the front pieces are knitted from the cast-on edge. The work is then joined, and decreases are made for the waist. After that, increases are made for the hips. Finally, the edges are crocheted.
The bottom of the bag is knitted first. Stitches are then picked up around it to knit the outer layer of the bag. Before folding down the edges and knitting the inside, three temporary threads are inserted, one for the flap that folds over the bag and two for the shoulder strap. This creates a seamless look. Once the inside is knitted, the shoulder strap and flap are completed.
